The Mekong Minis is a unique social media campaign that celebrates the many faces and experiences of the Lancang-Mekong Region and promotes the region as a single tourism destination. It is an annual regional tourism marketing campaign with its first instance in 2018, reaching over 22.6 million people worldwide and generating over 1.2 million video views in its first year alone, supported by all Tourism Ministries and the private sector in the Lancang-Mekong Region.
The “Mekong Minis” are targeted to attract amateur and professional video makers to share their experiences in the region via 60 second videos on their own social media channels. By engaging travelers through this campaign and through partners in the region, it creates a large amount of content and reaches millions of people worldwide every year.
